Membership in the SJCMEA consists of all Musical Educators’ teaching at any school located within the boundaries of the San Joaquin County Office of Education. The duties of membership shall be stated or provided for in the Bylaws of the SJCMEA. The organization shall be known as the "
The purpose for which the SJCMEA is organized and operated is exclusively literary and educational. The purpose of the organization shall be the advancement of music education, and in specific furtherance thereof:
(a) to conduct programs and activities to build a vital musical culture and an enlightened musical public for the benefit and the general welfare of all persons; (b) to ensure that every student shall have access in school to a balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality program of music instruction.
Our main event is the annual High School Honors Concert, held in January of each year.
